How long will face painting last?
In dry, temperate conditions, face painting should last until it’s washed off with soap and water. Face painting can be impacted by rain, snow, sweat, eating/drinking, wiping the face, and more, so taking care to keep your face dry and clean can help your design last longer.
How do I remove face paint?
Professional face paints can be removed with water and a soft cloth. (We recommend water-based disposable wipes as some colors may stain fabrics.) If any color remains on the skin after wiping with water, a mild cleanser, gentle lotion, or micellar water may be used to remove stubborn pigments.
How many faces can you paint in an hour?
Each artist can paint an average of 10-12 full faces per hour, or we can paint up to 20 faces per hour by offering smaller designs with less detail.
How far will you travel?
Although we are based in Richmond, we travel anywhere in central Virginia. The first 25 miles of travel are included in the price of the booking. For distances outside of the 25-mile radius, you may incur a travel fee.
How much do you charge?
This depends on the type of event, location, the approximate number of guests expected to attend, and the duration of the event. Please see our Rates page for more information.
Do you have public liability insurance?
Yes, we carry liability insurance and are happy to provide proof of coverage on request.
What products do you use and are they safe on the skin?
We use only professional quality water-soluble face paints and cosmetic-grade glitters manufactured by Kraze, Diamond FX, Tag, and others. All are non-toxic and safe for sensitive skin, but we’re always willing to do a patch test on the arm if desired.
Can someone have their face painted if they have a rash or a cold?
For the health and safety of our customers, we regret we will not paint anyone who appears to be suffering from:
– Cold symptoms (sneezing, coughing, runny nose, etc.)
– Rash
– Cold sores
– Conjunctivitis
– Chickenpox or any other infectious skin complaints
– Open cuts, burns, abrasions, or scabs
How old does someone need to be to have their face painted?
Professional quality face paints are tested and approved for those age 3 and above. Our insurance provider requires that we follow the manufacturers’ guidelines and use these products only on persons over age 3.
